It all began with an idea.

Little Heroes Project was created as a response to a need in the community.

Whilst working with Teen Parent Units across Aotearoa with The GET Group, we found that a lot of young parents were struggling to meet the costs of essential items and basic necessities. So, we put our heads together to come up with a solution.

Through connections with the local community & generous businesses, we created a way to provide essential items for families who may be struggling or are facing hardship. We started creating zero cost care packages full of items for families and quickly realised the demand was greater than first anticipated, and the Little Heroes Project was born.

Little Heroes Project began operating in September 2021 and became a Registered Charitable Trust in February 2022. Zero cost care packages for whanau is our core service, and we also provide support and mentoring for young people across Aotearoa.

Our Misson

We aim to provide free and accessible mentoring and support for young parents and their tamariki. We want to provide relief to families facing financial and material hardship by gifting personalized care packages and providing access to other support services.
